Deryck Sundarsingh [On The Level Construction] has done two jobs for me and I would hire him to do the next job without hesitation. He operates with his brothers, Jacob and Joel. Jacob is a fine technician, accomplished in electrical work and plumbing. Joel excels as a painter and decorator. There is no finer lathe, plasterer and drywaller than Deryck. I contacted Deryck to quote on a fairly difficult drywall project. His price was competitive and I liked his approach and attitude, so I chose to hire his company for the job. Much to my delight, they showed up when they said they would, did all the agreed upon work and finished when they said they would. (Not a common trait in Toronto subcontractors.) No hassles.

Deryck and Joel were at my house for the better part of a week. They helped me repair large portions of drywall that were damaged after our pipes burst this winter. I cannot say enough good things about not only their professionalism but also their talent at what I’m learning is becoming a long lost art: the art of drywall installation. My walls were taken apart piecemeal to access the pipes. This made it much more difficult to repair than simply replacing entire walls. They fixed patches of missing drywall were in hard to reach places, near the the ceiling, and at odd angles. At one point they ran into complications marrying the new sections of drywall with the old. They came up with an ingenious solution using a special type of screw that pulled the two sections together.

I am now sitting here looking at the walls a day after the painters left and I am unable to differentiate between the new and old sections, even up close. A week ago I thought our home would never look the same. My wife and I now have our home back, exactly the same as it was before.
